๐ Passkeys: sign in with your device
A passkey lets you sign in to the website by confirming with your device, for example using a fingerprint, facial recognition, PIN or a compatible physical key. It is not a Minecraft item or a code you need to copy. ๐
๐งญ What you need
Open the official website through HTTPS in a compatible browser and use a protected personal device. Do not save your passkey on a public computer or a device shared with people who can unlock it.
Adding or deleting a passkey requires your current HyperMine password and, if enabled, your two-factor authentication code. If you do not yet have a local password, read how to manage your password. Signing in with Microsoft does not create that password automatically.
โ Add a passkey, step by step
- Sign in with your account and open Security.
- Find Passkeys and select Add passkey.
- Give it a name you recognize, such as โMy phone.โ The name only identifies it; it is not a password.
- Continue and enter your current password. If you use 2FA, also enter the current code when asked.
- At the final confirmation, continue to create it. Your browser or device requests the available check: fingerprint, facial recognition, PIN or physical key.
- Confirm in that window and wait until the passkey appears in your website list. Cancelling the window does not complete registration.
The PIN requested by the device may differ from your HyperMine password. Do not enter the server password in a window requesting your device PIN. HyperMine does not need your fingerprint or a photo of your face.
๐ช Use it to sign in
On Sign in, enter your username and choose the passkey option when available. Select that account's key and confirm on the device. This method does not require typing your password in the sign-in form.
If unavailable, return to password sign-in or another method already available on your account. Passkeys are for the website; they do not replace Minecraft login or 2FA commands. Managing credentials still requires the corresponding security checks.
๐ฑ Change devices or remove a passkey
Availability on other devices depends on where you stored it and your credential manager. Do not assume it is on every phone or computer. Before deleting a passkey or changing phones, check that you retain another sign-in method.
In Security, review each key's name and dates. To delete one, select it and follow the password, 2FA when applicable and final confirmation steps. Only that key is removed: your password and other keys remain.
If Add passkey is disabled, check that you are using the official HTTPS address and a compatible browser. Cancelling a device window does not break the account: you can try again when it is ready.
